Roaming profiles not updating server
In the Logs of the Client I found the following (Bold parts are analogously translated to English because the VM is a German Windows installation, the rest is 1:1 copied from the event-log): more.
No user interaction is required DETAIL - 2 user registry handles leaked from \Registry\User\S-1-5-21-1107009087-2515811915-3103359273-1105: Process 1296 (\Device\Harddisk Volume1\Windows\System32\spoolsv.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-1107009087-2515811915-3103359273-1105 Process 840 (\Device\Harddisk Volume1\Windows\System32\svchost.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-1107009087-2515811915-3103359273-1105 the sync-error of the roaming profile occurs (there are 9 seconds between these two messages).
I have tried creating the folder, renaming the path in Active Directory, Deleting the local user, changing the path of the user in gpedit, changing permissions on the server, and basicly everything I have been able to find as answers on google.
I have also tried rebooting and updating the server, but that didn't work neither. The 3 results I have had so far are the following: - Windows cannot get the info from the server to read the roaming profile, and a local temporary profile is created.
We installed Windws 7 on a few pc's, and after that, whenever someone logged onto those computers, their roaming profiles on Server 2003 could not update.
The users are owners and have full control over their folders on the server, but when they modify something e.g desktop, their profile folder (\server\profiles\%USERNAME%) doesn't update.
Windows 10 and roaming user profiles don’t harmonize well.
In this post, you will learn about the various traps you might fall into if you’re working with roaming profiles in Windows 10 in your network.
I am working as an IT-supporter at a small company.
At the beginning this is working, but now the synchronisation of the userprofiles isn't working any more.
I connect to the VPN at the login screen of the Client-VM and I get logged in without any errors, but e.g. When I logout, I get an errormessage that my remote profile can't be full synchronized.
